Meet Steve, owner of Cherry Tree Wood Works
A local middle school was in need of a podium for their graduation ceremony, and I took up the challenge to make one for them. I what I learned was that many people were interested in what I could make and the artistic spin that I put on everyday objects.I began making small things for friends and neighbors and the word spread from there.I make many craft items such as wooden drink coasters and bottle openers, to cheese slicing boards and candle holders, All of the materials I use are sourced from small businesses in southern Wisconsin, and a large percent of that comes from urban lumber. This means what may have been ground into chips destined for a landfill, are turned into useful objects. Each of the objects are handcrafted by myself as if I were making them for myself or a friend. I’m far more interested in quality that quantity or profit margin.
